To say Claudia loved baseball would be an understatement!
She LOVED and lived baseball!
During her childhood, she developed an undying love of baseball. As a teen, she played five years with the Boys & Girls Club, where she was the only girl competing in an all-boys league.
As the boys grew older and much larger it became clear that she was not going to be able to continue playing so she took the next best path and found she loved it! Coaching!
At 23, she returned to the Island to pursue her dream and became the first female coach in Bellevue Pony League. Eventually her drive led to her becoming the Mercer Island Baseball Commissioner. Her determination was highlighted by the MI Reporter and Journal American touting her coaching skills and confidence in 1995.
She loved her kids!
